About Us

Founders David Stent and Graham Hickson bring a passion for nature and local produce and bring an intimate knowledge of the Australian outdoors to the experience.  First walking the Scenic Rim trails as a youth, David has researched and written about the history of the local area where he was born and bred. He currently owns and operates a small cattle property on the edge of the Scenic Rim and is a keen advocate for environmental protection having established Spicers Peak Nature Refuge which showcases how nature and livestock production can strike a sustainable balance.

A participant in the building of Spicers Peak Lodge and the planning and construction of the quality trails that surround it, Graham is a property owner from the Goomburra Valley who shares David’s passion for sustainable practices. A seasoned walker, he has trekked the Scenic Rim extensively as well as New Zealand, Tasmania and Kosciusko. As hands-on operators, David and Graham share their expertise and secrets of the bush, guiding like-minded nature and food lovers in small groups through the graded paths of World Heritage wilderness and private refuges.

As a result of David and Graham's commitment to sustainable practices and a true passion for the land, Hidden Peaks Walks have been accredited as ADVANCED ECO-TOURISM operators.

We are also committed to ‘Eco-Luxury’. This term is used by Hidden Peaks Walks to distinguish authentically high-quality nature-based tourism experiences from those based on obsolete and non-sustainable experiences. Hence we innovate to be environmentally sustainable while maintaining a beauty and wealth experience. Some fundamental conditions for this involve staying ‘small’ and ‘exclusive’, keep the highest as possible standards, practice environmental and social sustainability, partner with National Parks on nature conservation, inform guests about our sustainable activities and involve them in our efforts.
